Bricscad Price

BricsCAD is an all-in-one computer-aided design (CAD) software that combines 3D modeling and 2D CAD for.dwg. It’s a less popular platform that provides all.dwg 2D CAD features while bringing the convenience of the powerful 3D modeling and time-saving tools. Buy BricsCAD - The modern CAD software alternative Based on DWG, BricsCAD is compatible with everything you know, and is available as a perpetual license that you can buy once and use forever. Start with precision by using dynamic snap grids that change depending on your zoom level. Why is the upgrade price from V20 BIM to V21 BIM nearly the same price as buying it outright? Last year I paid AUD $812 to upgrade from V19 Platinum to V20 BIM which is fair as I wanted the BIM module of Bricscad. Now the price is AUD $1463 to go from V20 to V21 BIM (excluding the module upgrade). That is nearly a%100 increase?

So, at this point, my BricsCAD seat is not worth much in terms of getting an upgrade. If the funds are available for the upgrade, they are likely also available for the more expensive SolidWorks.

Your reasoning doesn't make much sense to me. Even if you go with Solidworks, you will still have the same problem of costs to upgrade at a later time. Say you need to upgrade again in a few years. Spend X for Bricscad upgrade, or spend Y for something else, where Y is more expensive than X.

Why is maintenance mandatory? I am sure there are users, like me, who are happy to pay the upgrade price without maintenance.

I'm on the cusp of getting V21. Been keeping a close eye on Bricscad and waiting for it to develop to the point I can be comfortable using it with the features I need. For kicks and giggles I went through the steps of buying a perpetual license on their website. When I added V21 Ultimate to the cart, I have an option to uncheck the 1 year maintenance package, saving me $670 CAD. Was this changed from when V20 was the current package?

There is a lot of traffic – both facts and noise – on the Internet today regarding changes in one CAD vendor’s software licensing models. So, we want to make sure that our loyal BricsCAD users understand our license offerings, today and moving forward.

  1. First, we need to make one thing perfectly clear: when you buy BricsCAD, you get the perpetual* right to use the software without monthly or yearly fees. If you sign up for our All-In maintenance, and at some time in the future make the decision not to renew it – your software will continue to run.
  2. Second, if you choose All-In maintenance, you’ll have full access to all software releases – both major and minor – and you can choose when to install them, without forced updates.
  3. Third, your license lets you run BricsCAD on Windows, OS X or Linux. You can install your single license on your desktop PC at work and on your laptop computer at home.

Each of the three options presented here are based on the total cost of ownership of BricsCAD for five years. We’re using BricsCAD Pro as the price point, as it’s our most popular edition.

Your first license option: BricsCAD Pro + All-In Maintenance

Bricscad

Option one includes BricsCAD Pro and our All-In maintenance. When you choose All-In, you will be entitled to all of the software updates, and the next major release (e.g., buy BricsCAD V17 today, and you’ll get V18 when it is released).

Being “All-In” also entitles you to priority email technical support, directly from the BricsCAD development team.

At the end of one year, you simply renew your All-In maintenance (€220/$235) to keep enjoying priority support and the latest upgrades.

Advantages of BricsCAD Pro + All-In Maintenance:

  • As always, BricsCAD gives you a perpetual right-to-use license
  • Stay up-to-date with all software releases
  • The next major version of BricsCAD is included
  • Enjoy priority email technical support 24×7
  • The lowest cost of ownership to stay up to date for 5 years: €1420/$1585

Disadvantages

  • Option one’s initial cost is a bit higher, because your upgrade to BricsCAD V18 is included in the total purchase price + first year’s All-In Maintenance

Your third license option: Yearly BricsCAD Pro Rental

The BricsCAD rental program gives you access to the most recent version of BricsCAD for one year, and includes new releases during the rental period.

BricsCAD Pro rental is priced at €340/$395 a year, renewable each year. Based on today’s prices, rental will cost at least €1700/$1975 over a five-year period. If you wish to rent BricsCAD, please contact your local BricsCAD Sales Point.

Advantages of BricsCAD Pro Rental

  • Lower initial costs during the first year: €340/$395
  • Stay up-to-date with all software releases
  • Enjoy priority email technical support 24×7
  • Some companies may enjoy tax benefits on software rental expenses

Disadvantages

  • No perpetual right-to-use license. Your license expires after one year if you don’t renew it, and the product stops working
  • The most expensive way to stay up to date over a five-year period: at least €1700/$1975

Conclusion

The least expensive way for you to enjoy the power of BricsCAD is to select option one.

Buying BricsCAD Pro + All-In maintenance means you’ll save money on each upgrade over the five year period, while enjoying rapid, priority technical support.

*Note: the phrase “perpetual right-to-use” means that you are entitled to use your BricsCAD license for the length of time that you have a functioning computer that will run the software. The potential for operating system obsolescence is one limiting factor in the right-to-use equation.
